Royal Patron
Her Highness Princess Elisabeth of Ysenburg and Büdingen, Princess of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg welcomes you to the OSMTH website.
Princess Elisabeth of Ysenburg and Büdingen, is the eldest daughter of the late Prince Friedrich Ferdinand of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg and his wife, Duchess Anastasia of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. The House of Schleswig-Holstein is unique by virtue of its numerous junior lines that have occupied (and will be occupying) thrones besides that of the senior, ducal line, to which Princess Elisabeth belongs. Princess Elisabeth is the widow of Prince Ferdinand Heinrich of Ysenburg and Büdingen, and has two sons, Prince Johann Georg and Prince Ludwig.
In 1863, Prince Christian of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg succeeded to the Danish throne –as King Christian IX. Also in 1863, King Christian IX’s younger son, Prince William became King of Greece, as King George I. Today, both King Constantine II of Greece and Queen Margrethe II of Denmark are members of the House of Schleswig Holstein. In the next generation, another European throne will be occupied by a Schleswig-Holstein prince. Though it is little realized, Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain’s husband, Philip, Duke of Edinburgh – born a Prince of Greece and Denmark – is also, paternally, a Prince of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg. So, in the next generation a Prince of Schleswig-Holstein will be King of Great Britain.

Grand Master
Allow me, on behalf of Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem (OSMTH), to welcome you to our website where you will find an overview of who we are and what we do as Knights and Dames in the twenty-first century.
Our Order was founded on the principles first adopted by the original Templar Knights in France in the Year 1118 and carried out in those early days from their home in the Temple of Solomon in the Holy City of Jerusalem, provided for them by then King of Jerusalem Baldwin, the Second. In these modern times, OSMTH is international in nature with members from over 40 nations, ecumenical Christian in our religious beliefs welcoming Members of all Christian religions, and focused on matters of human rights, political and religious freedom, and humanitarian aid to the world's less fortunate. We are officially recognized by the United Nations in Special Consultative Status and furnish OSMTH Official Delegations to the United Nations in New York City, Vienna, and Geneva.
Please take the time to look at the humanitarian projects in progress and supported by the member Grand Priories. We welcome your visit to the website and encourage you to explore membership in one of the Grand Priories.

Grand Commander
Welcome to our website!
I am the Grand Commander, the CEO of OSMTH, and I will serve from April 2018 until October 2019. As you will see on this site, the modern Templars continue to be relevant in the 21st century, with our work to promote peace and understanding between nations, cultures and religions. We have members across the world with only the Polar Regions without members. We are proud of our international reach as this brings unique insight to the tasks we face at home and at the United Nations where we are a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) with Special Consultative Status.
In these troubled times, Templars strive to build bridges across different communities and faiths with our focus on the Middle East, but not forgetting those less fortunate in our own home countries and territories and in other parts of the world. Through Christian good example we hope to encourage individuals and groups to work together to build a better world, and work at sustaining the peaceful achievements that have been often painfully won.
If this piques your interest, check out this website to see if there is a local representative body and you can apply for membership to that group.
